The TCA9554PWR is a 16-pin device specifically designed to deliver 8 bits of general purpose parallel input and output expansion for the two-line bidirectional I2C bus protocol. Its robust functionality is supported by a wide power supply voltage range of 1.65 V to 5.5 V and compatibility with both 100-kHz (Standard-mode) and 400-kHz (Fast-mode) clock frequencies. When additional I/Os are required for switches, sensors, push-buttons, LEDs, fans, or similar devices, the TCA9554 serves as a practical solution. Noteworthy features include an interrupt on the INT pin that is generated whenever an input port changes state, providing enhanced monitoring capabilities.
