The MAX856CSA is a highly efficient, CMOS, step-up, DC-DC switching regulator designed for small, low input voltage or battery-powered systems. It is part of the MAX856-MAX859 series, which offer various input voltage and output voltage options to meet different power supply requirements. The MAX856/MAX858 models can accept a positive input voltage between 0.8V and VOUT, and convert it to a higher, pin-selectable output voltage of 3.3V or 5V. On the other hand, the MAX857/MAX859 adjustable versions have a wider input voltage acceptance range of 0.8V to 6.0V, and can generate higher adjustable output voltages in the 2.7V to 6.0V range. With typical efficiencies greater than 85%, these regulators are ideal for applications where power conservation is critical. Additionally, the MAX856CSA has a low quiescent supply current of 25µA (1µA in shutdown), making it suitable for battery-powered devices where minimizing power consumption is important
