The MAX235CPG is a dual driver/receiver RS-232 interface IC that is designed for industrial applications requiring high data rates and noise immunity. It features a transmitter with a standard RS-232 voltage levels (+5V/-5V) and a receiver with inputs that accept RS-232 levels up to ±30V.The MAX235CPG operates from a single +5V supply voltage and has a low power consumption of only 1.2mA in shutdown mode.
